SIGEP 2018: GAMBERO ROSSO´S 2018 GUIDE TO ITALY´S GELATO PARLOURS LAUNCHED

The largest trade show dedicated to the world of artisan confectionery is once more hosting the presentation of the Gambero Rosso guide that gives votes to Italy´s top gelato parlours
Rimini, 22nd December 2017 . Which will be Italy´s best gelato parlour in 2018? This will be revealed exclusively in advance at SIGEP with the second edition of the Guida Gelaterie d´Italia 2018 (2018 guide to Italian gelato parlours) by Gambero Rosso. After last year´s great debut, the Rimini show has been confirmed as the official launching pad for the new Gambero Rosso guide that gives votes to the best 350 gelato parlours in the whole of Italy.
According to their excellence, they´ll have one, two or three cones, assigned according to quality, according to the guide´s established style. At the beginning of the guide, a small vademecum dedicated to the main types of frozen products and the ingredients, with numerous suggestions for a better understanding of the composition and elements that form each flavour.
The appointment is therefore for Monday 22nd January in the Orion open space to discover the names of Italy´s most irresistible gelato parlours. This will be followed by a tasting session hosted by the award-winning master gelato makers, in a tasting program that will celebrate one of the food products that increasingly represents Italy worldwide.
During the presentation of the 2018 Italian Gelato Parlour Guide, four special awards will also be presented: best chocolate gelato, emerging gelato maker, sustainability award and best savoury gelato.
Laura Mantovano, Gambero Rosso´s managing editor, comments, ´This new experience of giving awards to the best Italian artisan gelato parlour continues with great energy. This is the edition of the guide that Gambero Rosso has decided to the great masters who keep the flag of Italian artisan gelato flying high and continue to experiment and research, to obtain, season after season, a product that is increasingly healthy and with balanced components.´
