WHEN JAPANESE GELATO MEETS ITALIAN MUSIC

Gelato & Pastry Lab - Pav. C2

Award Ceremony for Young Japanese Talents
Presentation of the Educational Training Project between ITALY and JAPAN
An Italian, Monica Nasti, triumphs at the 11th Japan International Choral Composition Competition (ICC Japan 2025) in Tokyo. Monica Nasti is a Music teacher, graduated in piano, music education, band instrumentation, and composition from the Bari Conservatory. A great contribution was given to Monica Nasti and Italy by two great figures from the Japanese artisanal world, masters YOSHIHIRO MAKINO and SHOHEI YASHIMOTO, champions of artisanal gelato, who with their contribution allowed Monica Nasti to receive this prestigious award.
Gelato is also Art, Harmony, Culture, and young people find in gelato, as in music, the fundamental elements that lead to exalting the values of the soul, sharing, growth, and mutual respect. A great musician has illuminated the Italian musical panorama with her notes and talent, involving Japanese gelato champions, demonstrating that Italy is proud to have artists who leave a mark in the global context. And SIGEP is the right venue for this partnership.
What has united this award?
Three important factors: Music, young people, and smiling gelato.
All this in search of Harmony, music, union, esteem, courage, strength, and respect, which are fundamental points for the growth of young people and the stability of their future in the world.
The harmony of a message translated into music and the sharing of a sweet gelato opens the heart to the joy of a smile and the union of young people and future peoples. In fact, this work produced by
Monica Nasti is dedicated to the crucial theme of bullying, a topic very close to Nasti's heart, to which she dedicates this work "You are Star Stella ES". Monica dedicates this writing to young talents who find in music a path that leads them to the free interpretation of the human being, to rediscover the courage to rise again and remind everyone of the unique and inalienable value of the person. It is therefore a sonic caress for those who feel hurt, a choral encouragement to resist, to shine, to express one's uniqueness. And it is for this reason that two champions of Japanese Artisanal Gelato wanted to make a powerful contribution and allow Nasti Monica to receive the prestigious first prize in Tokyo.
To best address these issues, the Gustar training school in Pistoia, under the direction of the Pegoraro Family, makes their laboratories available for training in pastry, gelato, chocolate, and bakery, for an exchange of intentions between Japanese and Italian operators. The Gustar school is not new to training international talents. In addition to this, Chiriotti Editori, thanks to Livia Chiriotti, and Pro 2 Ma.Ri by Liuzzi Martino, which dedicates study and research to the training of young talents, are also involved.
During this Sigep 2026, the following will be awarded
