Event
Honduras is the largest coffee producer in Central America and a key global exporter. However, EU regulatory pressure, markets demanding greater transparency, quality standards and environmental commitments — including the goal of zero-emission coffee — along with a more aware consumer, are pushing the sector towards models where decarbonization, traceability and real impact are not optional, but distinctive competitive factors. The opportunities are enormous, but they require technology, training, collaboration, investments and economic models that recognize the value of origin. In this context, Honduran coffee faces significant challenges to ensure traceability, high quality and carbon neutrality, but it also has competitive advantages: diversity of altitudes, experienced producers and an increasing use of sustainable practices. The key lies in an integrated national system that allows showing the world a sustainable, transparent and competitive coffee.
