The Talent of the Future Takes Center Stage
A SIGEP Academy project dedicated to professional pastry schools.
Creativity, technique, teamwork: SIGEP Giovani is the competition that celebrates students' passion and shines a spotlight on the best emerging talents in Italian artisanal pastry. For 35 years, SIGEP has supported youth education, promoting school-based educational projects at the fair through training initiatives, internships, and competitions. SIGEP Giovani is an initiative carried out in collaboration with Pasticceria Internazionale, SIGEP’s exhibiting companies, hospitality schools, and professional institutes from all over Italy. Its goal is to promote education and offer students the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired in school.

What is SIGEP Giovani?

Created to highlight the new generation of pastry professionals, SIGEP Giovani is SIGEP Academy’s educational-competitive project designed to engage schools and encourage excellence starting in the classroom. Each year, hospitality and pastry schools across Italy are invited to participate with original ideas, technical skills, and a spirit of collaboration, competing in a multi-phase journey that culminates in the prestigious showcase of SIGEP.

The 2026 Edition

The competition is structured in three main phases. Each school may participate with one team, composed of 4 students and 1 teacher-tutor, who will present their creative project along with a technical sheet. All entries will be evaluated by a jury of industry experts. The 13 selected schools will advance to the next phase and have the opportunity to attend the 5-day fair. These schools will then be assessed based on a video montage showcasing the creation and execution of their product. Finally, the 4 selected teams will move on to the live competition phase, which will take place on the Gelato & Pastry Lab stage during the five days of the event.
