SPEAKER

Sandro Camilli

Descrizione speaker

At the first meeting of the National Council in 2022, Sandro Camilli was elected as President of the Italian Sommelier Association and will remain in office for the next four years. Joining him in the role of Vice President is Marco Aldegheri.
Sandro Camilli comes from Amelia, in the province of Terni, and turned his passion into a profession after years of hard work in the restaurant business, where he began to hone his senses. From experience to essence, his life changed twenty years ago thanks to his encounter with the AIS, a fixed star in a constellation of studies, masters and marketing courses on wine that showed him the path to follow. After obtaining his sommelier certificate, he contributed, in an ever-increasing way, to the development of AIS Umbria until becoming its regional president, a position he has held for the past twelve years.
Marco Aldegheri, elected to the vice-presidency, comes from Verona, where he has worked since 1987 as a technical officer at the local university. He has been a Sommelier since 1994, a speaker since 2002, and regularly conducts lectures at the three AIS levels and for other professional training organisations, as well as tasting and popularisation events. Among his most significant experiences are his presence in the National Council and National Executive Council from 2006 to 2010, his vice-presidency of AIS Veneto from 2013 to 2014, and his career as Regional President for the following eight years.
