GREEN AREAS
The fairgrounds’ 160,000 sqm outdoor area contains 1,500 plants and more than 30,000 sqm of lawn. In addition, the irrigation system only uses surface groundwater.
“ICE BANK”
Air conditioning is provided by an underground system that produces cold air at night and provides cooling during the day, reducing power consumption by 50%.
SUSTAINABLE SET-UP
Prostand, IEG's fit-out company, has set out on a path towards sustainability, involving the entire supply chain and adopting eco-friendly solutions such as the use of recycled and certified materials, LED lighting and modular furniture.
IEG FOREVER GREEN
The Rimini fairgrounds were designed and are managed according to the principle of low environmental impact. They have received prestigious international recognition from ELCA in Nuremberg for “Green Building”, while IEG has ISO 14001 Environment and ISO 45001 Health and Safety in the Workplace certification.
Recently, IEG also received ISO 20121 certification.
“THE TASTE OF SOLIDARITY”
Thanks to the cooperation of exhibiting companies, unused foodstuffs are distributed to various local non-profit organisations.
Leftover ice cream is also donated by exhibitors and then sold to the public for a donation. The proceeds are used to purchase essential groceries for local families in need.
LOW-IMPACT CATERING
In its catering outlets, IEG company Summertrade uses compostable or washable crockery and detergents with a low environmental impact and chemical risk. In addition, by signing up to the “Food For Good” project, IEG is helping to combat food waste, having saved more than 30,000 meals since 2015.
