SIGEP 2019 PROMOTES INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS AT THE SERVICE OF ARTISAN CONFECTIONERY

Rimini.A busy calendar of events, conferences and activities proposed by SIGEP
to favour real effective international networking for the 5 sweet food service product chains

Rimini, 21st December 2018 . International business is the main ingredient of the fortieth edition of SIGEP (Rimini expo centre, from 19th to 23rd January 2019). The large Artisan Confectionery Trade show, organized by Italian Exhibition Group, offers the entire gelato, pastry, bakery, coffee and chocolate product chains the most authoritative business marketplace for sweet food service companies and trade members.
The SIGEP platform, which enables exhibitors to book meetings with foreign buyers, has been expanded and has been operational since the beginning of December. A highly appreciated facility, which offers exhibitors the possibility of viewing in advance the profiles of buyers participating in the expo, enabling them to organize their agenda of business meetings. Right from the opening of the platform, there were opportunities from 65 countries from South East Asia and the Far East, Europe, Central and South America, North America, Africa and the Middle East, Oceania.
Plus, thanks to the participation of ITA Trade Analysts from 10 nations (two areas for the USA, Canada, China, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Iran, Vietnam and Jordan), Help Desks will be available for in-depth coverage of issues useful for developing business in the areas in question. ITA Italian Trade Agency has also prepared market researches on the 10 countries selected along with IEG, which are at the disposal of exhibiting firms.
There is also a project with Agenti 321. The partnership with the world´s largest network of Web sites dedicated to finding commercial agents throughout the world also continues for SIGEP 2019. Once again this year all SIGEP exhibitors will be able to take advantage of the network of 390,000 agents registered worldwide. A new feature for 2019 is the initiative aimed at involving the network of agents in Germany. In a dedicated area located in the central South Foyer there will be a delegation of German agents organized by Agent 321.
Going global is the title of the conference that will provide information on the growing German gelato market and future scenarios for gelato parlours. The appointment is for 21st January, 2:30 pm in Neri Room 1 . South Foyer. Reports will be given by three internationally successful chains:
Rosso Arancio: launched 9 years ago thanks to the determination of Vincenzo Baldassarre, with ´Segui il gusto´. A chain with 4 points of sale plus two others opening in Russia in 2019, an affiliate in Zurich, three in Germany and a very interesting project for further expansion.
La Romana: this Italian chain has a growing presence abroad: as well as the 33 points of sale in Italy, it has 7 more in Spain, Austria and Germany. In Germany it has a gelato parlour in Düsseldorf and is looking for partners to expand its business further.
Dal Cin Eiscafè, nineteen sales outlets in Germany, of which it is the sole owner of nine, in the area around Hanover.
On the occasion there will be a presentation of the exclusive research 'Le 50 catene di gelaterie leader' (The 50 leading gelato parlour chains) by the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany.
Internationality also means the export of Italy´s top expertise. SIGEP confirms its role as the most strategic business showcase for promoting the export of the best Italian technology to foreign countries, thanks to the work by Conpait with ITA, particularly in Latin America and the Middle East (Jordan and Palestine).
Plus, during the year, SIGEP is promoting various appointments worldwide to spread the sector´s Italian-made products and set up business relations, in order to further raise the expo´s international profile.
In particular, the trade show supports Gelato Festival, which, after the first Italian dates (in Florence, Rome, Turin and Milan) in June and July moved round Europe (Berlin, Warsaw, London and Vienna) and then between August and October in the USA (Jersey City, Chicago, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Dallas and Scottsdale). On Tuesday 22nd January at 11 am, Hall C1 will host the press conference for the 10th anniversary addition of Gelato Festival:.
On Tuesday 22, in the centre South Foyer, the Gelato Festival presents . on the occasion of the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of the event - Gelato Festival World Ranking, a project with an international profile, aimed at involving all the master gelato makers who have taken part in the dates of the famous tour through the years.
Increasing attention will be focussed on the small coffee bean. For the first time SIGEP is hosting the World Coffee Roasting Championship, the travelling international competition that rewards coffee roasting excellence. The trade show will host the best international professionals from a sector that estimates the value of international roasted coffee exports at over a billion euros. (Source: Comtrade)
The World Coffee Roasting Championship already has the participation of over twenty countries scheduled (Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the USA) and is officially included in the calendar of events organized by World Coffee Events after the appointments in Holland, South Africa, China and Brazil.
The prestigious competition will be held in Hall D3, with the contests being held from Sunday 20th to Wednesday 23rd January. Also to be remembered is Barista & Farmer, the only talent show dedicated to the world of excellent coffee. SIGEP 2019 will host the presentation of the documentary film of the IV edition of Barista & Farmer, held in June in Colombia.
On the other hand, Coffee & cocoa growing regions is the name of the project on which SIGEP is proceeding along with IILA (Italian Latin-American Institute), the international organization made up of the Governments of Italy and Latin-American countries, formed for the promotion of excellent coffee and chocolate. An all-round operation: from the development and coordination of a research on the problems and prospects of member countries, to the realization of concrete exchange possibilities, reciprocal assistance and joint action. Delegations from Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Venezuela will be at Rimini Expo Centre with a special exhibition area, for coffee, in Hall D1 and for chocolate in Hall B3.
There is also internationality among the events. In the Pastry Arena (Hall B5, the spotlight is on the fifth edition of the Junior World Pastry Championship, with the best young (under-23) talents competing for a coveted title of extraordinary quality. Contestants will be young pastry stars from Australia, China, Croatia, the Philippines, France, India, Italy, Russia, Singapore, Slovenia and Taiwan.
The new feature in 2019 will be the International Pastry Camp, a valuable opportunity to show the evolution of the pastry schools that are emerging throughout the world. The best young pastry chefs will arrive from eight nations (China, Croatia, the Philippines, India, France, Russia, Australia and the USA).
