Maestro Ronero Julio Enrique Ayan Rial, UNESCO intangible heritage, presents coffee aged in historic rum barrels

BioCubaCaffè offered an exclusive experience celebrating three excellences: rum, coffee and chocolate. The protagonist of the event was Julio Enrique Ayan Rial, one of the nine Maestro Roneros recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity. During the tasting, the first coffee aged in historical rum barrels, born from the collaboration with CubaRon, was presented.

Thanks to the over 50-year-old barrels of the historic ronera Don Pancho and the skill of Rial and the BioCubaCaffè coffeliers, a unique product was created, in which wood and rum blend perfectly with the coffee. BioCubaCaffè, a joint venture between GAF (Cuba), the Giuseppe and Pericle Lavazza Foundation ETS and HEI Srl, continues to promote Cuban organic coffee through a fair and sustainable supply chain, enhancing the value of local producers and promoting integrated community development.
